MK Dental Scheme

We have 2 schemes: Our Own In House Dental Scheme Patients can either pay for treatment as they go or join one of our two schemes. We decided against offering a comprehensive scheme that covers everything dental, simply because they were so expensive and for 99% of patients would be a very bad deal. We have a special Q&A section for enquiries. We are most happy to discuss further either by email on scheme@mkdentalcare.com, or phone call on 01908 690326, or we can send you a leaflet by post. |

Which is the best scheme for me? It will depend on whether you already have any other accident or sickness policy including holiday insurance. If you already have a policy then it might be better to have our In House scheme. Why does your In House Scheme offer such good value for money? We can do this because we are a small practice with low overheads, and we do not have to pay high charges to a company to administer. We have not included insurance which most patients either already have or have decided they do not need.. Are the charges fixed for ever? Every 1st January we review the costs and members will be given 1 months notice. Are members free to leave when they like? Yes, simply give us one one months notice. Is there a joining fee? No, but new members have to have a checkup and be dentally fit, before they can join. Existing patients who have had a checkup in the previous 12 months may join without another checkup. How do I pay? payment is by direct debit, every month. Normally the first visit is either 3 or 4 months later. How do I join? Simply pop into the reception and it takes 2 minutes to do the paper work. If I join, when can I have my first hygienist appointment? Normally the first visit is either 3 or 4 months later. What does limited warranty mean? We do not cover accidents involving trauma. As long as patients practice acceptable oral hygiene, follow the guidance we have given them including completing all their treatments. We will then we will replace free of charge any damaged/lost fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures for a period of 3 months after placement. So whilst a filling lost as a result of a punch will not be covered a broken filling or lost crown would be corrected free of charge. This warranty is only applicable to treatments we have carried ourselves after the patient has joined the scheme. Please also note that if you wish to have any work carried out as part of our free warranty then it must be carried out at our surgery. Some items of treatment are not covered by the warranty and these would be pointed out on your treatment plan Items not included include bleaching, some periodontal treatments, and treatments included in treatment plans where all the treatment was not completed. What treatment do I have to pay for? When you have a check up and require treatment that are not covered by a warranty then the patient pays for the treatment. For example fillings, crowns, dentures, cosmetic treatment as well as treatments for periodontal disease not treatable by a simple scale and polish. But remember members of the scheme get 10% discount as well a 3 year warranty. Are emergency visits free? Yes and No!!. The examination and appropriate Xrays are free but charges apply for treatments/medication provided. What happens when the surgery is closed for holidays? We do have cover when we go on holidays, but patients must the appropriate fees to the emergency dentist. What about children?
Children are treated as NHS patients. We accept children on the NHS irrespective of whether we see their parents or not. Please call the surgery: 01908 690326 for more information |

David's surgery is large and bright, with the latest equipment. This surgery is always admired by dentists when they visit the surgery, as everything is close at hand, yet hidden away. Cross infection control was at the heart of our surgery planning. |

Latest News We have accepted an NHS contract to treat children only. We are only be able to treat children under 16 years old on the NHS. We will accept all children irrespective of whether we see anybody else in their family. All we ask if that the children and their parents are motivated, capable and committed to life-long high standards of dental health. We will continue to accept all other patients on a private basis. We value continuous professional development and one of our nurses recently passed the NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing and received a merit award (one of only 42).
One of them has just qualified as a dental Radiographer after getting the best mark in her written exam for the Dental Radiography Certificate. Two of our team have just won major prizes. One of our nurses was awarded the highest prize for achievement in her Dental Nurse Training by Buckinghamshire Health Authority. This competition was open to all Dental Nurses. This was the first time in 8 years that this prestige prize has been awarded. In addition David was awarded the top prize by The British Dental Association (Milton Keynes) at the end of a recent Post Graduate Education program. Continuous Professional Development is compulsory for all dentists and the prize was hotly contested over 30 local dentists who took part. We are now a Recognised Dental Practice for Dental Nurse Training, and at the moment have 3 nurses who are with us for part-time work experience every week. Our practice offers the chance to use the latest equipment and work with the most modern materials. In addition we also have a very close working relationship with the local Dental Specialists. In the last 5 years or so we have had 3 trainee Dental Nurses qualify after doing their work experience with us. We are delighted to welcome a new member of our team. Tina is going to be working with us as an Hygienist. She will be working on Saturday to begin with and will be in addition to Nur, our existing Hygienist. Tina is an experienced hygienist. She commented after her first day how well trained and friendly our team was. She said she was particularly impressed with our emphasis on prevention and the high quality of knowledge of our Nursing staff. Tina also remarked that our prices for tooth brushes etc were in her experience unbeatable. She also said complimented us on our exceptionally high standard of cross infection control. She said normally when an hygienist starts in a new job she has to make a few changes, however she found we already had all the materials she needed to do 1st class hygiene work. We now have 3 qualified Dental Nurses. We believe that this reflects the high importance we attach to training and professional development. |
