Mk dental care are very conscious of the issues of safety and quality control in Dentistry in general and the use of X-rays in particular. We follow the latest guidelines and use the safest and best techniques, equipment and materials.

Although strictly speaking X-rays are the beams which produce the image and it is the image we look at and which many people call an X-ray we will refer to the image as an X-ray.

 X-rays are of great use and to get the best quality we have the very best equipment which is maintained to the highest standards, inspected and tested on a very frequent basis, we use the best materials both for the developing and storage, and we all our staff involved in the taking of x-rays receive the best appropriate training avail.

We have 5 fully trained and qualified members of staff who can take x-rays. All the qualifications are recognised by the General Dental Council.

When we have practice inspections or visits by colleagues we get lots of highly favourable comments about our Radiation Protection Policy and it's implementation.

However X-ray safety is not just about radiation and the quality of the image but also about Cross Infection Control. We use disposable bite block for biting on. 

We also are able to transmit our Radiographs by email to colleagues. Along with our Intraoral camera this is a major advantage in getting rapid second opinions. 

We comply with all the Radiation protection regulations and are registered with both the NRPB and HSE.

At the moment our charges for dental x-rays are

Small sized X-rays £7.00 each.

Medium sized x-rays £10.00 each.

Large sized X-rays £13.00 each.
